The Minister of Tourism and Traditional Industry, Houria Madahi, revealed her sector’s work plan for the period 2026-2028, which aims to attract 8 million tourists.
According to what was reported by the Algerian News Agency today, Thursday, June 25, the Minister stated during her supervision, yesterday, Wednesday, of the graduation ceremony of groups of students in the bachelor’s and master’s levels at the Higher School of Hospitality and Catering, that “the tourism sector is witnessing continuous positive activity in line with the directives of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at making tourism an essential source of economic diversification and building a tourism model based on national components.”

She added that this plan “aims to attract 8 million tourists by developing domestic tourism and improving accommodation conditions,” noting that this goal “is mainly linked to providing qualified human resources capable of providing modern services that respond to the aspirations of tourists.”
The Minister indicated that “the efforts made, in coordination and partnership with several sectors and bodies, allowed during the first semester of the current year to train more than 4,000 tourist guides, 1,200 craftsmen, and more than 900 managers for hotel establishments and tourism and travel agencies,” stressing that “specialized training has become an imperative necessity to keep pace with the transformations and build a strong and sustainable tourism industry.”
