All-inclusive arrangements have been among the most popular choices for summer vacations in recent years, as they allow guests a carefree vacation with pre-paid meals, drinks and numerous hotel facilities.
However, one question often causes dilemmas among tourists – is it necessary to leave a tip to the staff if everything is already included in the price of the arrangement?
Experts point out that tipping in all-inclusive hotels is not mandatory, but it is considered a nice gesture by which guests can show their gratitude for quality service.
“Tipping isn’t necessary, but it’s a sign of respect for the staff and often makes for a more enjoyable stay,” explained travel expert Mark Tantz.
Who is tipped most often?
Guests usually decide to reward the staff who were especially kind during their vacation or who helped them in everyday situations.
This includes waiters in restaurants and hotel bars, maids who maintain rooms, porters of luggage, as well as receptionists or concierge staff who assist with reservations, excursions and other requests.

Luggage carriers usually receive one to two euros per suitcase, while for special services at the reception, the amount is determined according to the guest’s satisfaction.

While in some countries tips are almost expected, in others they are much less common and mostly symbolic.
