“Price, design and technology”…a trilogy that enhances the presence of Chinese cars in the local market

Consumers said that the local markets witnessed competitive aspects, and an increase in the alternatives and options available to customers, in light of the expansion in offering new and diverse models of Chinese cars, which strengthened their presence in the markets through a trio of advanced and new designs, in addition to integrated smart technologies, and low prices compared to other models of other origins.

The President and his two deputies: Fathers are a symbol of giving. We remember their virtue and salute every father who builds a family that creates the future

They pointed out to “Emirates Today” that the new Chinese car models provided more diverse and competitive alternatives, while providing more advanced designs that were not available in the markets during previous periods, and modern technologies, whether for safety or to support and assist automated driving for drivers, which enhanced their presence, in addition to price offers that allowed greater competition, which was reflected in the provision of different offers to consumers.

In turn, specialists and experts in the automotive sector reported that the recent entry of a large number of Chinese-origin cars into the local markets has increased competitiveness in the markets and provided new alternatives and varieties in terms of designs, technologies and price categories.

    New models

In detail, consumer Basil Dawoud said, “The expansion in offering new models of Chinese cars has provided models with more advanced designs, whether in the external or internal appearance of the cars, in a way that was not available in the markets during previous periods, which has increased the alternatives and options for consumers.”

Consumer Nabil Mohsen added, “The increase in Chinese car models in the markets has contributed to providing vehicles with new advanced designs and smart technologies in price categories in which this type of vehicle was not normally available, compared to a number of models of different origins.”

Consumer Karim Marwan considered that “the car markets have become witnessing greater diversity and choices in car categories with the introduction of new models of cars of Chinese origin, which have provided vehicles with advanced and modern exterior and interior designs compared to what was available in the markets before, in addition to providing modern technologies related to smart systems to assist automated driving or safety, at low price categories.”

Consumer Maher Adel pointed out that “the presence of Chinese cars in the markets through more expanded models has contributed to increasing competition with other types, and increasing the options available when purchasing in terms of choosing the designs available for vehicles, available technology, and prices.”

It is noteworthy that a report by the international “Focus to Move” Foundation, which specializes in car market studies, revealed indicators of growth in sales of types of cars of Chinese origin, by the end of last year, by monitoring the presence of two Chinese car brands in the list of the five best-selling brands in the country, through sales of the “Gator” brand rising six places, to occupy fourth place in the list of car sales in the country with a growth of 82.1% during the year 2025 compared to the previous year, followed by the “MG” brand in fifth place. With a growth of 10.5%.

    Options and competitiveness

For his part, Khaled Al-Assal, sales manager for the GEC brand at Gargash Motors, said, “The expansion of offering new models of Chinese cars in the markets has provided greater options and diversity in designs in a new and more advanced way. It has also provided lower price categories with advanced smart technologies in cars, which were not previously available in the markets except in luxury or high-priced car categories.”

Al-Assal added, “Chinese cars have increased competitiveness in the services and technologies provided in the car markets, and strengthened their presence in the local markets by competing in providing more diverse specifications to consumers in terms of designs, prices, and smart technologies for safety and driving support for drivers,” pointing out that “the more markets expand in new models, the more this will benefit consumers.”

    Trademarks

For his part, the General Manager of Performance Plus Motors and Voya in the Emirates, Mohammed Al-Zawawi, said, “The continuous increase in the number of car brands in the Emirates reflects the strength of the market and its remarkable development, in addition to its established position as one of the most dynamic and growing car markets in the long term. The country has proven to be one of the most open and competitive markets in the region, which makes it an ideal destination for international brands, whether well-known or emerging.”

He added, “This type of competition contributes to reshaping the characteristics of the sector on several levels, as it promotes faster innovation, especially in the areas of electric transformation, digital integration, and advanced driver assistance systems. On the other hand, competition is no longer limited to the quality of the product only, but also includes the full ownership experience, including after-sales services, warranty programs, ease of access to services, and the level of interaction and service with customers.”

Al-Zawawi explained, “For the consumer, this reality translates into wider choices and higher value, but at the same time it makes the decision-making process more complex, and from here factors such as trust, reliability, and long-term reassurance emerge as decisive elements in the choice.”

    Demand strength

In turn, the regional director of the “i-Cure” brand, Hope Zhang, said, “The entry of more brands into the markets is a clear indication of the strength of demand, and at the same time opens real opportunities for everyone, provided that this is coupled with providing added value to customers.”

He added, “This reality imposes a clear standard, which states that every brand must prove its right to its place in the market by providing clear and measurable value, not only in the product, but through the entire ownership experience.”

Managing Director at Al-Futtaim Toyota and Lexus, Jack Brent, said: “The UAE is one of the most competitive car markets in the world, and this competition carries within it a clear positive aspect. “It contributes to raising standards and is in the interest of customers. Continuity, trust, and a deep understanding of what drivers value are the most important aspects of achieving excellence in the market.”

Marco Milani, General Manager of Al-Futtaim Commercial Enterprises, said: “The state of openness of the automotive market in the UAE is undoubtedly a positive indicator, and we see the growing competition as a driver of progress and development of the sector. Competition contributes to raising standards throughout the market, and is ultimately in the interest of the customer. Our role is to provide an integrated portfolio of mobility solutions, and enable customers to choose what exactly suits their needs.”
