The Center for Yoga and Traditional Medicine at the “Bagtyyarlyk” Sports Complex in Ashgabat celebrated International Yoga Day on June 21. Hundreds of healthy lifestyle enthusiasts attended a mass yoga class, according to “Turkmenistan: Golden Age.”
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Turkmenistan Bandaru Wilsonbabu noted that the popularity of yoga in Turkmen society is steadily growing.
“Yoga brings people together, promoting not only healthy longevity but also peace in our community. I’d like to take this opportunity to invite Ashgabat residents to the free training sessions offered daily at the Center for Yoga and Traditional Medicine,” the diplomat said.
In turn, Deputy Minister of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan A. Ovezov emphasized the important role of yoga in improving people’s emotional well-being, as well as in the prevention of diseases associated with a sedentary or unhealthy lifestyle.
