Morning is the time when families are commuting to work and school, following the news of last night, making daily plans and need someone with a calm, confident and reliable language to be by their side and provide a clear picture of the day ahead. That’s why morning programs aren’t just a collection of items; Rather, they play the role of pace maker of the day for the society. They can create peace of mind, reduce everyday worries, give skills to families, inject good mood and most importantly, be a bridge between people and officials.
“Salaam Tehran” was formed on this basis; A morning TV magazine that tries to start the day of citizens with a combination of information, hope, skills, spirituality and social participation. The program is broadcast every day except Fridays from 7 to 9 am on Tehran network and by focusing on family, urbanization, practical education, life skills, mental health, public interaction and up-to-date news, it seeks to make the beginning of the day of its audience not only warmer and more pleasant but also more efficient and informed. This daily program helps families leave the house with a calmer mind, be more aware of urban and social issues, and start their day with more hope and energy.
Armin Abedini, the producer of Salam Tehran program, says about the general approach of this program: Salam Tehran is a morning TV magazine focusing on social issues, family and urban lifestyle. We try to provide education that is necessary for all Iranian families, especially the citizens of Tehran, in an attractive and dynamic format. Our main goal is to promote social vitality, strengthen life skills and urban and national identity so that the audience starts their day with good mood, motivation and awareness.
According to him, the structure of the program is a combination of social, cultural, spiritual, artistic and educational items: we have tried to design a space that is both informative, inspiring and practical. In these two hours, in addition to receiving news and analysis, the audience also learns skills for everyday life.
The identity of the meaning of the program with the memory of the 8th Imam (AS)
One of the fixed parts of the program, which forms its spiritual identity, is the special salawat of Imam Reza (a.s.) at 8 am. Abedini explains about this: Every day at 8:00 a.m., a special prayer is broadcast in honor of the holy shrine of Imam Reza (a.s.). Our audience from all over the country can send greetings to the Holy Shrine from a distance. This section is not just an item for us, but a daily spiritual connection with the audience.
He also mentions the martyrs of the third imposed war: we dedicate the beginning of each program to the name of one of the martyrs of the recent imposed war. We try to match the introduced martyr with the occasion of the same day; For example, on Teacher’s Day, a martyred teacher or student is introduced. The presenters talk about the personality characteristics of the martyr, and then a production item including the introduction of his life and the place of his martyrdom is played. On some occasions, mothers of martyrs are also guests of the program.
Collecting people’s demands
Kobri Aslfalah, the editor of Salam Tehran, also told JamJam about the content of the program: “One of our most important boxes is the service desk.” In this section, senior managers of service organizations and members of parliament are invited to give performance reports and respond to people’s demands. Before the program, we collect people’s demands and follow up directly from the officials.
He continues: For example, on Population Day, the Chairman of the Population Committee of the Majlis was a guest of the program and explained about the measures taken. On the same day, we made a video connection with the central bank and the news of easing the terms of marriage and childbearing loans, including the removal of the requirement of multiple guarantors, was announced for the first time through our program.
Aslfalah says: The spiritual counselor box is included in the program, which talks about peace in crisis situations based on the Quran and prayers. Recommendations such as reading Ayat al-Kursi before sleep or referring to Quranic texts are suggested for mental peace.
He explains about the news boxes: On odd days, we have a cultural and artistic box that includes movie news and conversations with actors and journalists in the field of culture. A regular reporter from a reputable news agency is also present. On even days, social, judicial, urban and sports boxes are active.
He adds: In the sports section, in addition to presenting the news of the day by the sports reporter, the presidents of the federations or prominent sports figures appear in the program and discuss the issues of the day in a question and answer session.
Audience from all over the country
Asalfalah says: In the daily skills section, simple tasks are taught; Like what to do if the phone falls in water or how to fix the problem if the faucet is leaking. One of the important parts of the program is optimal energy consumption. We mention this every day. Audiences send their experiences; For example, insulating windows to prevent energy wastage, using rice water to water pots, or using water to wash fruit for the garden. We believe that we should consume properly, not just consume less.
The editor of this program says about the educational sections: Every week, especially on Saturdays and Mondays, psychological experts talk about family resilience in critical situations, emotion control, parenting skills, and strengthening self-esteem. Also, in the media literacy section, we teach the audience how to distinguish true from false news.
The health table section is also implemented with the presence of nutrition experts. Aslfalah says about this: In this section, we talk about eating habits, the reason for the craving for sweets, and the right time to eat fruits and vegetables.
He says: In the program, we also considered the morning exercise box, which is designed in such a way that the audience can do it at home or even at the desk. Epic music plays to fit the mood of the day and guest singers perform live.
Asal Fallah explains about the interaction with the audience: Every day we ask an SMS question appropriate to the topic of the program and we receive extensive feedback from all over the country. Soon we will also launch the audience club to establish a closer relationship with the viewers.
He emphasizes: Although the mission of Tehran network is to focus on the capital city, the topics of the program are related to urban life and general skills, and for this reason, we have audiences from different provinces. Salam Tehran tries to start the morning of every Iranian with awareness, hope and empathy.
