There were lively moments today on Ormanlı Beach in Çatalca district of Istanbul. Citizens who went into the sea to cool off and spent time on the beach noticed a suspicious object at the water’s edge. Those around who looked closely at the object noticed that this metal piece resembled an ammunition.
Coast guard and police teams were dispatched to the scene upon citizens’ notice. The teams reached the area and took extensive security measures in the area against the risk of a possible explosion or danger, and took the citizens on the beach away from the suspicious object.
The mysterious object in question, which was thought to be ammunition, was safely kept and taken from the region by the teams in order to determine exactly what it was and to conduct detailed laboratory examinations. Investigations into the incident continue.
