Lafayette class frigate “Guepratte”, with side number 714, of the French Navy, came to Marmaris as part of its port visit within the framework of its NATO mission.
It was stated that the warship, which anchored at Albatros Marina with its crew of 151 people, will remain in the marina for three days. During the visit, the ship’s logistical needs such as fuel, water and food were met, while the crew was provided with the opportunity to rest.
The French soldiers who landed went shopping in Marmaris and visited the tourist spots of the district. The personnel working on the ship stated that they had come to Türkiye before for various duties and expressed their satisfaction with the hospitality of the Turkish people.
Stating that they always left Türkiye with good memories, the crew members said that they plan to visit a third port in Türkiye before returning to their country after the completion of their current duties, but this port has not been determined yet.
Authorities stated that the “Guepratte” frigate anchored in a marina for the first time in Türkiye.
