The people of the Wadaa area, Bani Sarim District, Amran Governorate, implemented a community initiative to repair and rehabilitate the Aqabat Mudhir road after it was damaged as a result of the rains.
The initiative included paving and leveling the road and constructing a retaining wall and sewers to drain rainwater 270 meters long through community efforts and personal contributions from the villagers and businessmen.
Munif Hammadi, the community initiative official in the region, explained that the initiative embodies the spirit of solidarity and community work and reflects the community’s awareness of the importance of contributing to the implementation of service and development projects, especially in the road sector, which represents a priority because of its direct connection to the lives of citizens.
He pointed to the implementation of such initiatives and projects that contribute to improving the situation of society and facilitating movement, stressing that the road project and its reopening meet the needs of citizens in the region.
Hammadi called on community committees, social figures, and businessmen to support community initiatives and unify efforts to accomplish more service projects that meet community requirements and serve local development.
In turn, the project supervisor, Mahmoud Ahmed, explained that the total cost of the initiative amounted to four million and 940 thousand riyals, stressing that the initiative contributed to the rehabilitation of the road used by more than five thousand people, which facilitated the movement of citizens.
