A meeting in Amran Governorate today, headed by the governor of the governorate, Dr. Faisal Jaman, discussed the matrix of emergency development intervention projects for the month of Muharram 1448 AH.
The meeting, which included the Chairman of the Services Committee in the governorate’s two local districts, Ahmed Al-Siddiq, the representative of the Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit, Hashem Al-Ridi, and the Director of the Executive Unit for the Rehabilitation and Repair of Roads and Places, Salah Al-Qahum, touched on the executive and technical mechanisms and procedures related to the development projects proposed to be implemented during the next month of the year 1448 AH, and ensuring the efficiency of work in accordance with the development priorities and the actual needs of the directorates.
The attendees, in the presence of the directors of the Imran Aqeel Sharif and Shahara Yasser Al-Ardi districts, and members of the engineering team, reviewed the results of sorting and analyzing the project matrix submitted by the local authorities, cooperative societies, and mobilization in the directorates.
The importance of directing support during the first phase to remote districts was emphasized, including Shahara, Maswar, Al-Qafla, Habour-Zalima, Al-Madan, and Suwayr, which have effective cooperative societies capable of implementing projects efficiently, which contributes to motivating the rest of the districts to strengthen their development role.
The attendees decided to adopt the principle of sustainability in implementing projects, by focusing on activating the role of initiatives and not dispersing efforts between multiple projects, to ensure achieving the development impact and serving the value chains associated with each project until its complete completion.
They stressed the importance of building local capabilities and qualifying workers at the district and district levels to meet the needs of development projects, with training and qualification programs starting from the Shahara District as a prototype that will later be circulated to the rest of the districts.
At the meeting, Governor Jaman stressed the importance of expanding the implementation of community initiative projects in various priority service and development sectors.
He praised the role played by the Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit in supporting community initiatives and financing priority service and development projects.
The Governor of the Governorate stressed the necessity of holding periodic monthly meetings to review the project matrix and follow up on the level of completion, in order to ensure the continuity of field work and address any challenges that may hinder the implementation of projects in their various stages.
He pointed out the importance of concerted efforts by official and community bodies to support local initiatives and encourage the community to actively contribute to the implementation of development projects, as it is an essential partner in achieving development and meeting the needs of citizens.
The Governor of Amran expressed the local authority’s leadership’s support for community initiatives in mobilizing the community’s energies and stimulating its participation in implementing service and development projects, in a way that enhances sustainable development opportunities and improves the level of services in various regions.
He urged unifying efforts and enhancing coordination between official agencies, community components and cooperative societies, to ensure the success of community initiative projects and achieve their development goals according to a participatory plan that contributes to serving citizens and achieving development in the governorate.
The representative of the Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit, Al-Ridi, reviewed the project matrix and the mechanism of project implementation procedures in the targeted districts of paving and constructing rural roads, building water barriers, and building and rehabilitating schools and other service projects.
He stressed that the support consists of providing diesel and cement to support community initiative projects and completing the required works according to studies and data submitted by the concerned authorities.
