Acting Minister of Economy, Industry and Investment, Sam Al-Bashiri, met with the Head of the Central Bureau of Statistics, Ahmed Ishaq, and discussed with him mechanisms for cooperation and coordination between the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Investment, and the Central Bureau of Statistics.
The meeting touched on the importance of developing joint cooperation programs between the Ministry and the agency in the field of providing data and statistical indicators that support the planning and decision-making process and drawing up economic and development policies.
Al-Bashiri stressed the Ministry’s keenness to benefit from the capabilities and data of the Central Bureau of Statistics, within the framework of integration and concerted efforts to contribute to raising the efficiency of institutional performance, enhancing the quality of economic studies and analyses, and providing a modern and reliable database that serves various economic, productive and investment sectors.
For his part, the head of the Central Bureau of Statistics appreciated the keenness of the leadership of the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Investment to strengthen institutional cooperation with the agency and support efforts aimed at developing statistical work and benefiting from its outputs in preparing economic plans and programmes, in a way that serves the goals of sustainable development.
The meeting decided to hold a joint technical meeting that includes the relevant sectors and departments in the ministry and the agency, to develop a practical framework for cooperation and determine common priorities and mechanisms for their implementation.
The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the capital secretariat, Ali Al-Hadi.
