Gajser is seventh in the qualifiers, Pancar is in 17th place
Slovenian motocross rider Tim Gajser won the seventh place in the MXGP class in the qualifications before Sunday’s World Championship race in Kegums, Latvia. The Belgian Lucas Coenen, the leader in the season total, won the qualifications, the second Slovenian representative, Jan Pancar, was 17th.
For Coenen the Dutch finished the qualification on the Latvian beach Jeffrey Herlingshis countryman Kay de Wolf and as the fourth French world champion Romain Febvre. There was a Spaniard before Gajser Ruben Fernandez and native Pauls Jonass.
Team Gajser was fourth in seven World Championship trials with 256 points before the race in Latvia. Now he has 260, he remained in fourth place, ahead of him with ten more the nearest Febvre.
With the qualifying victory and today’s new ten points, Coenen still slightly escaped Herlings in second place (354-322).
Jan Pancar he has yet to make it into the top ten points-scoring qualifiers this season, leaving him 61 and 17th overall.
The first race of the Latvian GP in Kegums in the MXGP class will be held on Sunday at 13:15, the second will start at 16:10.
