US President Donald Trump announced that an agreement to stop the war with Iran is scheduled to be signed on Sunday, which will be immediately followed by the opening of the Strait of Hormuz to international navigation, in a step he considered fundamentally linked to the course of the ongoing negotiations.
In a post on his “Truth Social” platform, Trump said: “The agreement is scheduled to be signed on Sunday, and immediately after the signing, the Strait of Hormuz will be opened to everyone,” indicating that his country will later deal with the Iranian nuclear file by “destroying nuclear materials” with advanced military capabilities.
On the other hand, Tehran denied this timing, as Iranian media quoted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as saying that “the agreement will not be signed on Sunday,” while its spokesman, Ismail Baghaei, stressed the need to wait for an exact date to be determined, suggesting that this will happen in the “coming days.”
