Another university has just joined, with its teams of academics and researchers, the Dialogues for the Coexistence Barrial that promotes the Daily List.
The Caribbean Universitywhich has distinguished itself for its initiatives of social inclusion and scientific research, is the new ally.
It thus joins the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo and the Nordestana Catholic University, which are already preparing work models to confront the factors that trigger conflicts in our neighborhoods.
The most latent are those related to noise pollution, from the uncontrolled emission of volumes of music and other sounds, altering the peace and tranquility of the neighborhoods.
As well as what has to do with the neglect of basic services and the climate of citizen insecurity, which increases crimes and violent responses.
The first dialogue was held in Los Alcarrizos and, in a few days, the results began to be seen.
There have already been specific actions by government institutions to repair streets, improve the public lighting system, remodel school buildings and arrange investments for important municipal works.
The underlying idea is to promote a better environment so that the community and the Government can positively channel pressing demands, and to foster a climate of harmony in neighborhood relations.
The objective is to join forces to stimulate another culture of coexistence.
In this context, the support of universities, the Attorney General’s Office, the Ombudsman’s Office, the Commissioner for Police Reform and community groups is essential to provide a basis for support for this initiative.
Congratulations on this support from Unicaribe, expressed through its chancellor, José Alejandro Aybar, and we remain open to more accessions!!
