The Socialist Party in Shkodër celebrates its 35th anniversary.
Prime Minister Edi Rama is present in the northern capital. In addition to the Prime Minister, present are current deputies of the district, as well as SP personalities who have left this city over the years.
In parallel with the event of the socialists, protests are also being held in Shkodër. The head of the government is giving a speech up in the Castle. He is also wearing a flamingo T-shirt. Meanwhile, below the Castle, hundreds of citizens are protesting against the construction of the project in Zvrnec.
During his speech, the Prime Minister said that today, the SP has no reason to feel tired.
“The SP today is a powerful engine, which is becoming a great political force. The majority of Albanians is clear and determined to complete the historic mission, to be in the big European family. This majority is not satisfied with everything they encounter in daily life, it is not that they do not see the daily problems. But we also have those people who seek to put on crutches. They see what we have done for Albania, for our urban and rural areas, the Majority sees what we did for our national flag”, said Rama.
Then he also criticized the protesters. He said they became environmentalists all of a sudden. Rama added that the SP has never betrayed the national interest.
“It’s easy to hold a flag and wave it. What don’t you hear from these “patriots”. One said that Rama has deliberately reduced the price of plane tickets, so that Albanians flee the homeland. What do these people want, that we raise the prices of plane tickets? They want to save Albania from me and you. Where were these people, when the birds and animals, which are protected species, were killed? Where were these people, when the forests became the country, where only one bird could be heard, the chainsaw?
Where were these? I don’t have it for those who were 10 years old at the time, but I do have it for those who suddenly became environmentalists. Suddenly they found out that there was a diabolical plan to sell Albania. They forget that they are facing the SP, which has never betrayed the national interest. Contraband passed through here, supplying oil for Milosevic’s destructive machinery. The other side was selling the national interest. Those who call the SP traitors are without religion or faith. The homeland is not to be kept in the mouth, but in the heart and mind. We are not the destroyers, but the saviors”, said Rama.
He also talked about flamingos. He said that earlier, the birds were cut by rifles. Rama declared that the SP cannot waste time with nonsense, as he also mocked the influencers.
“If the flamingo tells its story, it will tell how the rifle cut it. If the curly pelican spoke, it would tell the horror it experienced. Before the ban on hunting, even the curly pelican was targeted. Today we protect the birds. If one were to look at the satellite plans of Albania, one would certainly see that there are much more forests today than before. What did we destroy? The project is being done by international experts, not influencers and bloggers. We must all bring as much investment to Albania as possible.
