Iran fired ballistic missiles at northern Israel tonight, triggering air raid sirens in several areas, reports said The New York Times.
The Israeli army (IDF) announced that it had identified a missile launch from Iran towards Israeli territory and that the air defense systems had been activated.
Authorities urged citizens to immediately take shelter in protected areas after receiving the warning and remain there until further instructions.

Israeli and regional media say the attack was carried out in response to today’s Israeli attacks on the southern suburbs of Beirut, Lebanon.
A senior Iranian official announced the attack today, noting that it follows a “decisive and painful” response to Israel’s airstrikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut, the most serious escalation in the war in Lebanon since a ceasefire was established in mid-April.
Following today’s attack, Ebrahim Rezaei, the spokesman for the Foreign Policy and National Security Committee of the Iranian Parliament, wrote to X:
“We will give a decisive and painful response to the Zionist regime’s attack on the suburbs… Watch the skies of the occupied territories tonight.”
For now, there is no information about possible victims or material damage.
