The total cost of the projects, which are expected to continue over the next few years, is more than $340 million.

Several of the projects outlined are expected to be completed within the year, including the construction of several Family Island clinics.

There is $266,000 allocated for a clinic to be constructed in Cherokee Sound, Abaco this year, while the construction cost for a clinic in Albert Town, Acklins, also to be completed this year, is pegged at $600,000.

Renovations to health centers on Abaco and Exuma are expected to be completed within the budget year as well, with each one budgeted at $1.05 million.

Other clinic construction projects outlined include a clinic in Bamboo Bay, Berry Islands, which has a budget of $4.01 million; a clinic in Moore’s Island budgeted at $3.5 million, and a clinic on Mayaguana, with a projected cost of $2.5 million.

For those projects, the government is projecting spending for the 2026/2027 budget year to be $2.79 million, $2.34 million and $1.5 million, respectively.

There is also a $6 million total budget for a local project manager consultant for the New Providence Hospital. The budget outlines spending of $2.12 million towards that in the upcoming year.

The Glass Window Bridge construction tops the list of Ministry of Works and Family Island Affairs projects, with a total budget of $95 million. The government allocated $9 million to be spent on that project in the 2026/2027 fiscal year.

There is also $76 million of bridge repairs expected to begin in the upcoming year, including the Fresh Creek Bridge, Deep Creek and the Stafford Creek Bridge in Andros, and a bridge in Barraterre, Exuma.

However, just $800,000 is expected to be spent on those four bridge projects in 2026/2027.

The government expects to begin $30.3 million of dock repairs, including docks in Treasure Cay, Abaco; Marsh Harbour, Abaco; Harbour Island; Landrail Point, Crooked Island; Spanish Wells and Gregory Town, Eleuthera.

Of that total for dock repairs, $2.4 million is allocated in spending for the 2026/2027 fiscal year.

Fourteen million dollars of government building repairs are also expected to begin this year, including upgrades to the Governor’s Harbour Customs Building, the Inagua Administration Office, Ragged Island Police Station and the Spanish Wells Administration Office.

In the 2026/2027 fiscal year, $1.7 million is allocated towards those projects.

Other major works projects slated to start in the next year include the Bay Street Drainage Rehabilitation Project, which is budgeted at $12 million, with $1 million in spending projected in 2026/2027.

A drainage maintenance project valued at $16 million will also begin in the upcoming fiscal year, for which $2 million has been allocated.

Finally, there is an allocation for the digitization of the ministry’s systems and processes, expected to cost $9.9 million over the next several years, with $1.5 million budgeted for the project in 2026/2027.

The Ministry of National Security has $20 million of projects set to begin within the next year, the largest of which is an $11.5 million CCTV expansion. Of the total project cost, $4.58 million is slated in spending over 2026/2027.

There is also a $6 million project for the procurement of fire trucks, with $2 million to be spent on that in the upcoming fiscal year.

An upgrade to the automated fingerprint identification system is expected to cost $2.5 million, with $2 million of that total budgeted for 2026/2027.

For the Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF), $40 million is slated to be spent over the next three years to procure a 62-meter flagship, the HMBS AD Hanna. In 2026/2027, $10 million is expected to be spent towards that goal.

A separate $2.1million RBDF project for the construction of low voltage infrastructure at HMBS Coral Harbour is also expected to begin this year. Of the total project cost, $523,915 is budgeted for the upcoming fiscal year.
