After being hospitalized since Monday, Queen Margrethe has been discharged. She is fine, but needs to take it easy.
Queen Margrethe has been discharged from Rigshospitalet after admission on Friday at noon.
The royal house announced this in a press release shortly after 1 p.m. Danish time.
She is on her way home to Fredensborg Castle, it says.
– Her Majesty is doing well, but must, just like when she was discharged from the hospital on May 19, continue to take it easy, writes the royal house.
Here she was hospitalized after a heart attack and a balloon expansion of the heart’s coronary artery. She was admitted on 14 May and discharged again on 19 May.
On Monday this week, the Queen was readmitted to hospital for treatment after a CT scan showed a large pool of blood in the hip region.
The blood collection was due to a previous fall, the royal house said.
In the press release on Monday, it was said that the Queen was doing well under the circumstances.
At the same time, it was said that she had to be hospitalized “for a number of days”. It thus lasted until Friday.
For now, there are no changes to the scheduled events that are on her calendar. But her “participation in scheduled attendances will be assessed on an ongoing basis”, it reads.
The next planned event in Queen Margrethe’s calendar is 6 June, when she will participate in the celebration of the new Storstrømsbro, which is named after the queen – namely Queen Margrethe II’s Bridge.
