
Security and service alert to secure Eid al-Ghadeer celebrations

The security services began a plan to secure the Eid al-Ghadir visit, amid an emphasis on humane treatment of visitors arriving to the Karbala and Najaf governorates. The spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, Colonel Muhammad Ali Al-Hassoun, said in a statement yesterday that (the Ministry’s Senior Undersecretary, Hussein Al-Awadi, held an expanded security meeting with the security leaders, to discuss the security and service plan for securing the Eid Al-Ghadeer visitation ceremony, in coordination with all supporting agencies and agencies, with the aim of providing the highest levels of security and smoothness for visitors and citizens in Baghdad and the governorates, especially in Karbala and Najaf, which witness a large density of visitors). He continued, “The security plan included strengthening the intelligence effort, deploying security detachments, strengthening the traffic effort, and securing the movement of citizens’ vehicles and vehicles, as well as securing external and internal roads, with a focus on facilitating the movement of citizens and providing them with the best necessary services.”
Stating that (the Ministry directed all its formations to raise the level of readiness and continue the field presence, in order to ensure the success of this event and its commemoration in a safe and stable atmosphere). The statement recommended (non-militarization of the visit, humane and disciplined dealing with visitors, and strengthening support for the leadership of Najaf and Karbala). For its part, the Holy Imam Ali Shrine raised the Ghadirah flag, marking the launch of the activities of Ghadir Week in its fifteenth edition. The head of the media department at the shrine, Haider Rahim, said yesterday that (the upper shrine witnessed the ceremony of raising the Ghadir flag, marking the launch of the activities of the Ghadir International Week in its fifteenth edition).
He pointed out that (the flag raising ceremony represents the official launch of a wide series of events, festivals and celebrations that will be held in various Iraqi governorates, and in a number of countries around the world participating in commemorating this occasion). Stressing that (these events will witness a broad popular, official, community and seminary presence from Najaf Governorate and the various governorates to which invitations have been sent to participate in these blessed ceremonies).
