The restrictions affect two one-kilometer sections – in the road to Sofia between the 274th and 275th km, as well as in the road to Burgas between the 284th and 285th km. There will also be changes at the road junction at the 275th km near the village of Hadjidimitrovo.
During the repair, traffic in both sections will be two-way in the free lane, the road agency specifies.
Due to the restrictions at the road junction, drivers traveling in the direction of Sofia will have to use alternative routes through the “Nova Zagora” and “Zimnitsa” road connections.
The reason for the temporary organization is the installation of new joints on bridge facilities. The construction and installation activities are carried out by “Automagistrali” EAD under a contract for ongoing repair and maintenance of the highway.
This is not the first restriction in the area in recent months. At the end of April, temporary traffic changes were again introduced on the highway near Yambol due to the repair of joints of bridge facilities. Then the restrictions affected two five-kilometer sections of the road to Burgas.
