“The vote on changes to the Law on the Status of the Descendants of the Petrović Njegoš Dynasty was not a vote on the history of 1918, nor on the character of the unification at that time,” said Mirko Miličić, spokesman for the New Serbian Democracy (NSD).
According to him, it was a vote on specific property-legal issues, the status of the foundation and the arrangement of the state’s relationship with the descendants of a historical dynasty.
“Those who try to present something different today are consciously replacing theses and using this topic for daily political calculations,” said Miličić.
As he said, during the voting last night, it was clear that all the parties, from the DPS to the SNP, still inherit the revolutionary communist spirit to this day, and, according to him, the whole world still remembers the attitude of their ideological predecessors towards various imperial and royal dynasties – starting with the Romanovs, through Karađorđević, and up to Petrović – Njegoš.
“As was the case before, we know that if these parties were asked, they would not give anything to the Petrović-Njegoš dynasty. We did not even expect it from them, but let them spare us their “revolutionary zeal” and leave it behind their own four walls,” said Miličić.
He states that it is clear that the former communists are afraid of what Mandić said last night – which is that this paves the way for the return of the alienated property of the Serbian Orthodox Church, other religious communities, our Karađorđević dynasty and numerous others who suffered the terror of the totalitarian communist regime since 1945.
“The NSD is not, nor will it ever be, a proponent of laws that call the realization of the centuries-old aspirations of our people anything other than unification, for which, let me remind you, there were also green and white supporters, that is, supporters of the Petrović-Njegoš dynasty and the Karađorđević dynasty,” he pointed out.
Miličić said that NSD MPs supported the mentioned PES proposal, because they are a party that, among other things, as he points out, cherishes all the positive achievements of the monarchist thought of the noble Petrović-Njegoš dynasty, and especially its all-Serbian spirit.
“At the very end, it was interesting to see how the various representatives of the opposition functioned so well and harmoniously last night, as if they had been together for years. We believe that this is very good for a new and reconciled Montenegro and that today there is a clear differentiation between who wants this country to progress and who wants to keep it in a permanent regime of division and chaos”, he concluded.
