A hiker did not reach the meeting point at the agreed time, and therefore a SAR operation was launched to find the woman.
Tuesday around 8 o’clock Greenland Police launched a SAR operation at Nanortalik.
A 62-year-old woman was out hiking in the area and did not arrive at the meeting point at the agreed time. The locals themselves had searched the area without success, and therefore contacted the police.
This is what Siimuut Dahl, head of duty at the Greenland Police, tells us.
The Greenland Police deployed a helicopter to search on land for the woman. The search took place along the walking route.
The 62-year-old woman was found safe a little after 12 o’clock, and subsequently came to Nanortalik.
Greenland’s police urges that you have the right equipment with you when you hike, so that you can come into contact with people.
