Two men have been charged with wounding with intent following an alleged cutlass attack at the San Fernando Taxi Stand near High Street, Princes Town, on August 7.
Messiah Pope, 24, and Sean Rivers, 28, appeared before Master Chinebass at the Princes Town High Court on Friday. Neither man was called upon to plead.
Police said the victim was standing at the taxi stand when the two men, who were unknown to him, approached him armed with cutlasses and struck him several times about the body.
The victim escaped on foot and went to the Princes Town Police Station, where he made a report. He was later taken to a medical facility for treatment.
Following investigations by PC Ramdatt, the men were charged.
Pope was remanded into custody, while Rivers was granted $85,000 bail with surety.
The matter was adjourned to September 30.
