Education Above All, in collaboration with Place Vendôme, hosted “Let’s Move for Education,” a community event held in celebration of Olympic Day 2026 and in support of the International Olympic Committee’s Let’s Move global campaign.

The event brought together more than 500 participants from youth and families, and included athletes from the Support Team, community members, partners, representatives from EAA and Place Vendôme, and invited guests to participate in an indoor community walk and jog at Place Vendôme Mall.

After a group warm-up session supervised by specialists, participants completed up to five rounds inside the mall, a distance of approximately five kilometers, in a joint celebration of physical activity, health, community outreach, and youth engagement. The event provided an inclusive space that allowed people of different ages and abilities to participate at their own pace, reinforcing the message that every journey begins with one step.

Through its participation in the International Olympic Committee’s Let’s Move campaign, Education Above All highlighted the role of sport as more than just a physical activity. Sport can help young people build self-confidence, resilience, teamwork, leadership and communication skills that support their growth inside and outside the classroom. The event also reflected the Foundation’s commitment to innovative partnerships linking education, sport and social development.

Al-Jazi Darwish, Director of Communication and Engagement at the Education Above All Foundation, said: Sports have the ability to bring people together and inspire young people to discover their potential, explaining that through the “Let’s Move for Education” event, we are proud to support a global movement that encourages active lifestyles, health, and community connection, while emphasizing our belief that education and sports can work together to empower young people and help them build the skills they need in their lives. The event also relied on Education Above All Foundation’s cooperation with Qatar Foundation and the International Olympic Committee through the “In the Circle” initiative, which aims to harness the power of sport to provide safe and inclusive environments that support children’s learning, recovery and personal development.

Mr. Mana Mohammed Al Ansari, CEO of Economic Empowerment at the Education Above All Foundation, confirmed that the Foundation is proud to organize the “Let’s Move” event in conjunction with World Olympic Day, in support of the International Olympic Committee’s Let’s Move initiative, noting that the event aims to enhance community participation and spread the culture of physical activity among various segments of society.

Al-Ansari said: Education and sports are two sides of the same coin, and hardly any educational curriculum is devoid of physical education, stressing that the initiative seeks to consolidate the values of teamwork, determination, initiative, and the pursuit of goals in children and youth.

He added: The number of participants in the event approached 500, pointing out that the number could have been larger had it not been for the safety requirements associated with holding the event inside a closed place, expressing his hope that future editions will be organized in open locations to accommodate larger numbers of participants.

He explained that the event witnessed wide participation, including children and the elderly, in addition to the participation of people with disabilities, Qataris, and residents, which reflects the cohesion and diversity of Qatari society. He pointed out that the Foundation continues to organize its initiatives throughout the year, including the activities of International Youth Day in August, and the International Day for the Protection of Education on the ninth of September, in confirmation of its mission to serve the community locally and internationally.

Sanjay Mehta, Group Marketing Director at United Developers, said: “We are pleased to collaborate with the Education Above All Foundation to host the “Let’s Move for Education” event at Place Vendôme, which reflects our commitment to providing a welcoming community space where families, youth and partners can come together to celebrate health, movement and positive social engagement.

By combining sports, education and community engagement, the “Let’s Move for Education” event embodied Qatar’s commitment to comprehensive community initiatives that promote healthy lifestyles, youth development, and community cohesion.
