Doha-Arraya:
The Qatari International Search and Rescue Group affiliated with the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) arrived in the friendly Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, and upon its arrival, it joined a number of international teams participating in search and rescue operations in the areas affected by the two earthquakes that struck the capital, Caracas.
The group includes teams specialized in urban search and rescue (USAR), supported by advanced technical mechanisms and equipment to deal with collapsed buildings and search for missing persons, in addition to specialized medical teams and field hospitals equipped to provide urgent health care to the injured.
Qatari humanitarian and relief aid also arrived in Venezuela as part of the air bridge conducted by the State of Qatar, and included food supplies, medicines, medical supplies and shelter materials provided by the Qatar Fund for Development, in support of the humanitarian response efforts and alleviating the suffering of those affected.
This comes as an extension of the State of Qatar’s humanitarian approach in supporting brotherly and friendly countries, and supporting international efforts aimed at rapid response to disasters and humanitarian crises.
