An issue of the Official Gazette issued provisions amending the system of fees for driver’s licenses and vehicle registration and licensing for the year 2026, including the addition of new provisions related to fees for the practical examination of driver’s licenses, and fees for some services and transactions related to vehicles.
Under the amendments, the applicant can now obtain a practical examination appointment for a driver’s license during the same day of submitting the application in exchange for an allowance of 100 dinars, while the allowance is set at 50 dinars for obtaining a practical examination appointment on the next day from the date of submitting the application, and 25 dinars for obtaining a practical examination appointment after two days or more and less than five days from the date of submitting the application.
The system also added new fees for a number of transactions, including placing a registration on the vehicle based on the owner’s request, transferring the driver’s license application transaction from one department to another, requesting cancellation of the driver’s license application transaction, canceling the cause during its validity period, and issuing a vehicle clearance, for 10 dinars for each, in addition to transferring the trainer from one center to another for 25 dinars, issuing a technical inspection report for vehicles for 20 dinars, adding notes to the temporary entry vehicle voucher for 25 dinars, and updating vehicles for 25 dinars. 100 dinars.
The system introduced annual fees for some services, including the use of non-advertising stickers on the body of the vehicle at a value of 100 dinars annually, printing distinctive plates at a value of 1,000 dinars annually, the use of a private number on temporary entry vehicles at a value of 1,000 dinars annually, and vehicles modified with approval at a value of 50 dinars annually.
The amendments also stipulated that licensing fees be collected annually, or the equivalent of (1/365) of the acquisition fees prescribed for each day, in accordance with the licensing fees stipulated in the system.
