Zamir said that the Israeli army continues to target what he described as threats inside Lebanese territory, stressing that the Israeli forces are exploiting “every available opportunity” to remove the dangers they see as directed against Israel.

He added that the army is working to make the most of the freedom of military action available to it in Lebanon, in statements that reflect the continuation of the Israeli escalatory approach in conjunction with the ongoing security tensions on the northern border.
The statements of the Israeli Chief of Staff come at a time when the Lebanese front is witnessing an exchange of attacks between the Israeli army and Hezbollah, amid regional and international diplomatic efforts to contain the escalation and prevent the expansion of the confrontation.
