In May 2026, the Ukrainian military carried out twice as many strikes against Russian targets at a distance of more than 50 kilometers from the contact line than in April. About this told Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov.
During the month, the Ukrainian military killed or seriously wounded 31,530 Russian occupiers, whose defeats were confirmed through the e-Baliv system. In particular, the Ministry of Defense records a trend towards an increase in the range of damage from the line of combat collision. In May, strikes at a distance of more than 50 kilometers from the front were twice as many as in April.
“Logistic lockdown works. We also have record indicators for the destruction of enemy vehicles and motorcycles. We strike at what provides the Russian offensive. The destruction of logistics, transport and warehouses forces the enemy to spend resources on survival instead of advancing,” the minister wrote.
Fedorov also reported that last month the Ukrainian military shot down a record number of Shahed drones. In total, the occupiers launched more than 10,000 attack drones, which is 25% more than in April, but the number of shootings increased by 50%.
In May, the Ukrainian military performed more than 14,000 logistics and evacuation missions with the help of the NRK.
“This is an average of 455 missions every day, during which dangerous work was performed by robots, not people,” Fedorov explained.
At the end of May, Fedorov announced launching programs “Logistics lockdown” for the scaling of middle strikes and systematic destruction of Russian capabilities at operational depth. Within the framework of the first stage of the program, the Ministry of Defense together with the General Staff allocated an additional 5 billion UAH directly for the military for the purchase of modern means of middle strike.
Earlier, “Oboronka” told that MrOssian occupiers showed destruction of own trucks more than 150 kilometers behind the rear of the Russian army in occupied Donetsk region. Also nand at the beginning of May, the 1st corps of NSU “Azov” carried out an operation in Mariupol and destroyed several units of Russian transport at a distance of more than 160 kilometers from the front line.
