German tennis player Alexander Zverev won his first Grand Slam title in his career and also became one of the few players who combined a Grand Slam tournament title and an Olympic gold medal.
Zverev defeated Italian Flavio Cobolli in the Roland Garros final with a score of 3:2, in sets 6:1, 4:6, 6:4, 6:7 (5:7), 6:1.
After defeats in three Grand Slam finals (US Open 2020, Roland Garros 2024 and Australian Open 2025), the German welcomed the moment he had been waiting for years in Paris and lifted the Musketeer Cup for the first time, becoming the 63rd champion of the tournament since 1891 and the 29th in the Open Era.
Koboli, on the other hand, played the best tournament of his life and reached his first Grand Slam final.
Although he failed to take the last step, the Italian confirmed that he belongs to the very top of world tennis and announced that in the coming years he could be a regular participant in the finals of the biggest tournaments.
