Tina Pir
“Pyatihatky-Bam” NGO
On June 4, it became known about the death of Ukrainian volunteer and director of the public organization “Pyatihatka-Bam” Valentyna Pyrozhenko, better known as Tina Pir.
About this reported on the organization’s Facebook page.
“The aggressive disease left no chance. A loving daughter, a caring mother, the coolest volunteer. She saved thousands of lives, helped everyone who needed it, tried to do as much as possible.” – this is how the NGO speaks about the woman.
Tina was originally from Kharkiv. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the woman has been involved in volunteer activities together with colleagues from the public organization “Pyyathatky-BAM”.
Members of the NGO deliver humanitarian aid to residents of Kharkiv and Donetsk regions, evacuate civilians and animals from the front line, organize activities for children and help eliminate the consequences of enemy shelling.
Valentine was the director of the organization, was responsible for cooperation with donors and local self-government bodies, as well as for humanitarian aid and evacuation of people.
According to acquaintances and friends, Tina evacuated thousands of people and animals from the most dangerous settlements and saved them from the advancing Russian occupation.
“She collected and delivered supplies to the military on the front lines. She made sure that children in her neighborhood were cared for and that internally displaced families had food and supplies. For over 4 years, she put her life on the back burner and put the needs of others before her own. It was an honor to know Tina.
Tina, your legacy will live on in the strength you inspired in others: in the people whose lives you saved, in your volunteers who miss you today, and in those of us you inspired to stand up for something more than our own needs. Your case is ongoing. Rest in peace, dear friend.” – wrote volunteer from the Czech Republic Marketa Vorel.
Valentine fought with cancer. Friends of the woman even started a fundraiser to help her. But the disease turned out to be stronger.
“The volunteer sector lost a daughter of Ukraine, a person with a huge heart, a patriotic attitude and incredible courage. Tina always lived with people. She personally participated in evacuations from the most dangerous settlements.
An infinitely painful loss. Health failed. War takes its toll,” – wrote Evgeny Kolyada.
Last year at war died volunteer from Avdiyivka and military officer Oleksiy Savkevich.
