Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, announced that European countries realize that refusing to cooperate with Russia has become tantamount to political suicide for their countries.
The Russian “Sputnik” agency quoted Zakharova as saying on the sidelines of the “Petersburg International Economic Forum”: “The residents of Western European countries realize where their systems have led them, and they demand decisive measures to overcome the crisis.”
Zakharova added, “They realize that refusing to deal with Russia, use its resources, and live in a normal coexistence based on mutual respect within a unified European space has become tantamount to political suicide for them, and so they are receiving a response from their regimes that suggests that they intend to follow a completely different path.”
The “Petersburg International Economic Forum 2026” will be held this year under the slogan “Pragmatic Dialogue…The Path to a Stable Future,” at a time when the global economy is witnessing accelerating transformations and increasing challenges related to growth, development, technology, and the reshaping of centers of economic power on the international scene.
