Summer, sun and swimming often bring one problem that almost all tourists face – where to leave your mobile phone, wallet, keys and other valuables while you are in the sea? It is precisely for this reason that an unusual trick that many consider very practical has attracted attention on social networks in recent days.
In a viral TikTok video, a girl showed how her boyfriend decided to solve the problem of storing things on the beach. Instead of leaving them on a towel or asking someone to look after them, he packed everything in a plastic bag and took it with him to the sea.
As reported by foreign media, he attached the bag to a small inflatable mattress that floated next to him the whole time while they were bathing. That way, valuables were with them, and they didn’t have to worry about someone stealing them while they were on the beach.
The video quickly went viral and collected more than a million “likes”, and many users admitted that they often find themselves in the same dilemma when everyone in the group wants to go to sea at the same time.
Comments in which users shared their own ways of protecting things from theft attracted special attention. The so-called “Balkan method” caused the most reactions.
It is a simple trick in which the cell phone, wallet and keys are placed in a plastic bag, then buried in a shallow hole in the sand, and a towel is spread over everything. In this way, the values remain hidden from the view of passers-by.
Other users claim that they hide things under their clothes, among folded towels or in other less visible places on the beach, believing that this is safer than leaving them in the care of strangers.
Although no method guarantees complete safety, discussion on social networks has shown that almost every tourist has his own way to protect personal belongings while enjoying swimming.
