Valdis Zatlers and his wife Lilita are regular visitors to the theater premieres, but Lilita Zatlers came to the last new performances without her husband, as reported in Gita Vīksne’s material “Where the ex-president is gone” in the publication “Privatā Dzīve”.
Valdis Zatlerswho celebrated his 71st birthday a month ago, did not come to the premiere of director Elmārs Senkov’s “Bolderāja” at Mikhail Chekhov’s Riga Russian Theater on February 27, nor to the theater day concert “Talking to me again… Ilze!” at the Latvian National Theater on March 27. This made many worried – where has the ex-president gone?
“It’s enough for me not to go somewhere, so that people have questions,” Valdis Zatlers answers with a hearty laugh when asked why he missed several premieres.
“I have quite a busy everyday life with a fairly busy work schedule, so I just can’t go everywhere. Everything is fine with me! You will most likely see me again in future theater performances. See you at the next premiere!” Zatler announced optimistically.
