Prime Minister Edi Rama’s car, officers of the Republic Guard, Rapid Intervention Forces (IFS) and State Police forces are at the “Mother Teresa” International Airport, in Rinas, awaiting the arrival of the head of government.
Rama is expected to arrive around 13:00 from New York, where he was to participate in the proceedings of the United Nations General Assembly. Upon arrival, the prime minister is expected to address the Albanians from the press room at the airport.
The content of the statement still remains unclear, while the Prime Minister’s announcement of a direct communication has fueled speculation on the topic he will address.
According to reports, a government source who was with Rama in the US did not give concrete details, but stated that the prime minister will take “a stance on the current situation”.
One of the issues that can be part of the statement is the situation created after the former director of SHISH, Vlora Hyseni, was accepted as a defendant by SPAK. The proceedings against her were carried out while Hyseni was abroad, at a time when Prime Minister Rama was also in the USA.
