Municipal council
The contract relating to the construction of the Center for landfilling and recovery of household and similar waste (CEV) for household waste in Médiouna has finally been signed. Work is scheduled to start in October.
The council of the municipality of Casablanca approved, on Friday, during its extraordinary session in June, several partnership agreements relating to the restructuring of the cleaning and waste management sector. The council, chaired by Nabila Rmili, president of the council of the municipality of Casablanca, thus examined and adopted the delegated management contracts for the cleaning sector in the municipality of Casablanca, as well as the cancellation of mandate agreement No. 01/2019 relating to the exercise of the missions of support, monitoring and evaluation of the delegated management of cleaning services.
The members of the council also approved the mandate agreement entrusting the local development company “Casa Baïa” with the missions of support, control and monitoring of the delegated management of the sector. The council adopted amendments relating to the delegated management contracts for cleanliness at the level of the district prefectures of Ben M’Sik and Moulay Rachid. In addition, the council approved an amendment to the mandate agreement relating to the exercise of the management missions of the transitional period of the public landfill, the development of the controlled public landfill, as well as the monitoring of the construction and delegated management of the center for the treatment, recovery and burial of household and similar waste. It also adopted the agreement relating to the granting of the surface right on part of a property located in the commune of Al Majjatia Oulad Taleb for the benefit of the company Al Beida Clean Power, delegated the management of the Center for landfilling and recovery of household and similar waste in Casablanca during the first phase, before its transfer to the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE) at the end of the contract. Ms. Rmili stressed that the Casablanca Household and Similar Waste Landfill and Recycling Center will come into service from next October. She specified that this center, which will make it possible to treat waste using modern processes and produce energy for the city’s public lighting, constitutes a first on an African scale.
Furthermore, the Council approved an amendment to a partnership and cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, the district prefecture of Hay Hassani, the council of the Casablanca-Settat region, the council of the municipality of Casablanca, the Anfa Urbanization and Development Agency (Auda), the Casa Baïa company and the Casablanca-Settat Regional Multiservices Company (SRM-CS), with a view to the development of Lake El Oulfa. In the field of mobility and collective facilities, the council approved a proposed amendment relating to the development of the northern section linking regional road no. 322 to the Zenata logistics zone.
The expropriation of the plots concerned by the redevelopment and widening of Avenue Sidi Maârouf, identified under the code AC 108 on the territory of the district of Aïn Chock, as well as the draft alignment order designating the land to be expropriated for the construction and development of interchange no. 23 at the level of the main road RP3018, including the overpass, was also approved. L8, as part of the mobility infrastructure development program between the prefecture of Casablanca and the province of Nouaceur.
