The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation reported that the United States handed over to Israel a document of demands related to the Gaza Strip. It reported on Tuesday that “America is pressuring Israel to allow the start of the reconstruction of Gaza,” as Washington expects the Israeli side to agree to its demands regarding the Strip.
Washington asked Tel Aviv to allow the construction of a central headquarters for the Gaza Committee, and is pressing to prevent the resumption of fighting in the Strip, according to the Israeli Broadcasting Authority. The commission explained that “Washington handed Israel a document to implement the Gaza plan without disarming Hamas.”
According to the document, Israel must allow infrastructure work to be carried out in specific areas of Gaza, and commit to transferring residents from the area under Hamas control to areas under the Peace Council by the end of this year.
Despite a truce that was reached in October 2025, Israel has continued to launch attacks in Gaza, saying that their aim is to thwart imminent attacks by Hamas and other militants, while the movement has so far rejected calls for it to lay down its arms in exchange for the withdrawal of Israeli forces.
The Israeli army has launched repeated strikes on the Gaza Strip since reaching a US-brokered ceasefire with Hamas.
Hamas accuses Israel of violating the ceasefire, while the appointed Peace Council envoy to Gaza, Nickolay Mladenov, says that both parties are violating the agreement.
Data issued by both sides showed that 1,045 Palestinians, most of them civilians, and four Israeli soldiers were killed in Gaza since the ceasefire entered into force eight months ago.
