Pele Møller was 86 years old and is known for his many years as a jazz musician.
He was born in 1939 in Qullissat and learned to play the guitar from a young age. Both in Qullissat and later in Denmark he played guitar in orchestras. In 1972, Pele Møller helped found a jazz club in Ilulissat.
He created his own orchestra Pele Møllerip Nipilersorartui in the early 1990s, where they played jazz music.
He has helped release 17 albums. Both with his own orchestra and the contribution to other musicians’ releases. Over the years, he has played together with several musicians, but also with his son Glenn Møller.
The orchestra participated in charity concerts for the Cancer Society, played at gala dinners for members of the Danish royal house and performed at countless national events.
Pele Møller has a special place in Greenlandic music history. He has inspired generations of musicians and helped make the guitar a central instrument in Greenlandic popular music.
In 2020, he received the Culture Prize.
