Vitinha and Nuno Mendes were distinguished by FIFPro with the award for integration into the XI of the Year 2025in a ceremony held during the National Team’s training camp. The distinction was presented in the presence of Joaquim Evangelista, president of the Players’ Union, and João Vieira Pinto, director of the Portuguese Football Federation.
The choice of the two Portuguese internationals is the result of a vote by professional footballers affiliated with football unions around the world, a factor that both highlighted as especially relevant, as it represents the recognition of professional colleagues for the work developed throughout the season.
The two Paris Saint-Germain players enjoyed a highly successful season in 2024/25, contributing to the conquest of Ligue 1the French Cup, the French Super Cup and the Champions League for the Parisian club, which also has the Portuguese João Neves and Gonçalo Ramos in the squad.
While serving the National Team, Vitinha and Nuno Mendes also won the Nations League, reinforcing a season marked by titles both domestically and internationally. The distinction awarded by FIFPro places the two Portuguese among the names chosen for the XI of the Year 2025, in a vote that continues to be considered one of the most prestigious in international football as it results directly from the choice of the players themselves.
