    Minutes later, the Secretary of Transportation and Transit of Girardota, Joaquín Hernández López, He provided new information about the event through an official statement in which he specified that the accident occurred “around 5 in the afternoon” and that it involved a “public service vehicle of the municipality of Barbosa.” In its statement, the authority confirmed that the car overturned sideways.

    In this report, still preliminary, it is stated that the number of injured amounted to 30 injured, “who are transferred to the municipality of Barbosa and the municipality of Girardota.” Likewise, he indicated that “The causes of the road accident are being investigated”so the exact circumstances of the event remain under verification by the competent authorities.

Ambulances and traffic personnel remain at the point of the accident to facilitate the transfer of the injured and control the traffic flow in this section that connects several municipalities in the north of the Aburrá Valley.

    For their part, authorities from the municipality of Girardota told this media that “the accident involved a bus from Barbosa, owned by the Transmeba company,” an intermunicipal and rural transportation company with its main headquarters in the aforementioned municipality of Antioquia, dedicated to the mobilization of passengers and cargo in the region.

    Local media, such as Telemedellín and Minuto 30, They announced that the specific vehicle would be a feeder bus for the Medellín Metro. According to reports, he lost control and ended up overturning a few meters after passing the main Girardota bridge.

    Videos and images that began to circulate on social networks show the vehicle overturned in the middle of the road, as well as the presence of emergency units assisting the passengers.
