The historical work is returning to the scene in connection with the completion of the extension of the D1 highway in front of Bratislava, and it found its new location in the area near Golden Sands.
The sixteen-meter-high work comes from the workshop of the academic sculptor Vladimír Móťovský and was created in 1972. It has stood by the D1 highway since the seventies and for many decades was one of the most prominent symbols of the entrances to the capital.
The statue had to be dismantled from its original location in 2009, when it had to give way to the first stage of the expansion of the highway stretch. Today, years later, it again becomes a dominant part of the eastern entrance to Bratislava.
