
Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski announced that dozens of companies have shown interest in investing in data centers in Macedonia, stressing that this is a step towards the development of artificial intelligence and the digital economy. He said that the state will not back down despite criticism and “hysteria” on social networks.
We asked the citizens: do they know what data centers are, do they agree with the plans and do Macedonia need such investments.
Part of the citizens are not against investments, but they are skeptical about data centers – mainly because of the concern about environmental impacts, the consumption of resources and the distrust that the benefit will reach the citizens.
