ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif said tonight that the US and Iran have reached a peace agreement.
“Both sides have declared an immediate and permanent cessation of military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon,” Sharif said in a post on the X Network. The official signing ceremony will be held on June 19 in Switzerland, Sharif added. He thanked Washington and Tehran for their commitment to finding a diplomatic solution to the conflict.
“We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to our brothers in this mediation effort, the great leadership of the State of Qatar, for their support in reaching this agreement. I would especially like to thank the visionary leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Turkey for their enormous contribution in this regard,” the Pakistani Prime Minister said in the announcement.
Immediately after the announcement from Pakistan, Donald Trump confirmed on his social network Truth Social that the deal was officially concluded.
