The Danilovgrad police filed a criminal complaint against VB (22) from Podgorica at the Higher State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica, on suspicion of raping a 53-year-old man, the Police Directorate (UP) announced.
Both persons, both the suspect and the victim, are convicted persons and are serving prison sentences in the Directorate for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions (UIKS) in Spuz.
“The criminal offense was reported by UIKS employees to the Danilovgrad Security Department on May 22, 2026, after which the police officers, in coordination and at the behest of the competent prosecutor, undertook a series of measures and actions, which led to the identification of VB as a person suspected of the aforementioned criminal offense,” the press release states.
The police add that it is suspected that VB committed the criminal act of rape the night before, on the night between May 20 and 21, 2026, around 3:00 a.m., in a room of a UIKS pavilion.
“The rape victim reported the incident to UIKS employees, who then informed the Police about the above. The criminal complaint against VB was submitted to the competent state prosecutor in the regular procedure,” it concludes.
