Member of the main board of the SDP and representative of the European Union, Mirza Šabović, commented on today’s attempt by Serbian citizens to enter Montenegro through the airport in Tivat and bring in “Serbia is winning” banners and a radio station and communication equipment.
“If 1918 was not a violent annexation for Aleksandar Vučić, I wonder if the importation of battering rams was a “non-violent visit” for him? The attempted infiltration of 87 persons of security interest, convicted thugs and suspended policemen through Tivat Airport exposed the continuity of the hegemonic policy of official Belgrade towards Montenegro,” Šabović said.
He says that “the regime of Aleksandar Vučić, which aggressively rejects the historical fact that 1918 was the illegal and violent annexation of Montenegro, is today trying to apply the same methods in a modern, hybrid form.”
“A logical question arises: if Aleksandar Vučić denies the historical violence of 1918, then what would he call the sending of two buses of Falangists and political stormtroopers to Tivat? Is this, according to his standards, another “nonviolent” and “fraternal” operation aimed at destroying the constitutional and legal order of Montenegro?” asks Šabović.
He says that “the infiltration of persons with serious criminal records, including those whom Vučić personally pardoned after breaking the jaws of female students, clearly shows that the methods have not changed, but only the means”.
“What used to be bayonets, today are Vučić’s party beaters in imported buses. The silence of official Belgrade before the deportation of such a large group of its own citizens is a tacit admission of guilt and confirmation that this operation was directed directly from Andrić’s wreath.
In the end, the fact that the Montenegrin security services responded in a timely and professional manner and defended the dignity of the state should be recognized objectively and objectively. Nevertheless, this must be a permanent warning, Montenegro must never again allow the repetition of historical scenarios in which the occupation of its institutions is carried out under the guise of false brotherhood,” said Šabović.
