How is Rama accommodated? Because both mandates in Pristina secured the votes of PDK and AAK in the runoff; invests a lot in PR, in advertising the work it says it does; that he is able to protest with those who protest against him, and shout “shoot the walls prime minister”; because Abdixhiku and Osmani burned their bullets with the “unification” and that perhaps the perception of the popularity they enjoy is unreal and because there is time he repeats that he is not a member of the LDK, so, just as he could become a candidate of the LDK, tomorrow he can also become a candidate of the PDK or whoever…
I don’t want to rejoice prematurely, but maybe this will be the only election in which there will be no delay in certifying the results due to complaints and vote theft.
Yesterday, a statement was heard from an elected deputy of the PDK calling on the Prosecution to deal with the issue of votes from exiles, without saying exactly what the Prosecution would have to do, or what are the indications that raise suspicions that they may have been manipulated.
So, while there could be manipulation, as it happened before two pairs of elections, where an LDK candidate had won the mandate thanks to many votes from the diaspora, this time no one mentions doubts of this kind. If there had been a breach of this nature, surely the candidate who would have been harmed by this situation would have been notified.
In any case, I believe that the candidates and the parties owe it to the voters to refrain from dragging pointless complaints, and for the results of these elections to be certified as soon as possible, because Kosovo needs to have the institutions in place.
Of course, with the very high hope, that we will not be led to elections in two months, because in the whole of Kosovo, you cannot find a name that would be a consensual figure for the position of the head of state. This, without a doubt, if the goal is to elect three institutional heads to start a new chapter.

From the preliminary results after the mandatory counting and recount, it turned out that VV secured 53 mandates. More than the three opposition parties together (48). It is already more than certain that the VV will choose the chief parliamentarian; it will also have the numbers for the formation of the new Government, and there will be enough time to sit down and talk with the opposition parties, about how to approach the election of the president. And, if there are already ten names, from which two must be chosen to carry out the election procedure. Since the Constitution does not force the election of the president first, the complaints of the opposition will remain registered at the FB level.
If they really want the best for Kosovo, they fall short of this whole circus and put an end to an absurd situation, which went off the rails at the moment when the opposition calculated that it had a lot to gain if we went to the elections and VV lost 52%.
The fact is that the first party lost a large majority, but the situation after the elections continues to be the same: the VV violated all of them (that if there had been a greater participation, it could easily repeat the result of the last time); the opposition has become point five, with serious internal problems and no real leadership that would bring about change, and the masses are confused and depressed with everything that is happening. With the successive loss of opportunities to move forward and tired of the machinations of politicians.

And while recently only the leaders of the winning party are being heard: “It’s time to behave in accordance with the will of the citizens”, almost all of the past did not have to behave in accordance with the will of the voters, the opposition has fallen into hibernation at the end of spring.
It is evident that they are making their own calculations, and one thing is clear to them – that as an opposition party, they would be able to form the government only if they collected all the votes of the minorities. This also means the 9 votes of the Serbian List, which, depending on the moment of the vote collection, sometimes becomes a party led by Belgrade, and sometimes a party of the citizens of Kosovo that does not have a court decision declaring it a terrorist organization.
So, what is being heard in certain television studios is exactly this: that it does not matter why the coalition is created with LS, the important thing is to remove VV from power. However, it is not being said what the solution would be for the position of the chairman, if such a conglomerate is created. It is not even indicated who would be the head of the government, and whether the mandate would be divided between two or three candidates… or maybe even another candidate, who is also (self) promoting himself as leader.

The whole week went by exchanging orders between Përparim Rama, the mayor of Pristina, and Dejona Mihal, the coordinator of the Committees in VV – and the starting point was a tragic accident that happened on the Pristina-Prizren highway, where a woman lost her life.
While the Ministry of Transport for years has failed to take seriously the maintenance of that road (five years, there has been no horizontal signaling on it, just to mention one detail), and may be indirectly responsible for this accident (the circumstances have not yet been clarified) – it deserves every criticism that can be uttered. The end is about the road safety of the users of this road.
And it would be expected that one of the candidates for prime minister, or one of the shadow ministers, would react. This did not happen. The accusation was made on FB by the mayor of Pristina. Ilir Kërçeli reacted to Rama first, then Dimal Basha, and in the end, the VV gave the ground to Mihal, who with a series of ironic and derogatory articles, however, has thrown many accusations against Rama and a number of people, politicians and media owners.
Why exactly Rama?
Because he is profiling himself (not to say they are profiling him) as the future leader of the LDK, or maybe even the united opposition in the hypothetical situation that we can have elections very soon, if the election of the president fails.
Why would he be accommodated there?
Because both mandates in Pristina secured the votes of PDK and AAK in the runoff; invests a lot in PR, in advertising the work it says it does; that he is able to protest with those who protest against him, and shout “shoot the walls prime minister”; because Abdixhiku and Osmani burned their bullets with the “unification” and that perhaps the perception of the popularity they enjoy is unreal and because there is time he repeats that he is not a member of the LDK, so, just as he could become a candidate of the LDK, tomorrow he can also become a candidate of the PDK or whoever…
And why things in the city are going badly, and that the city has never been more polluted and full of scum than in these last five years, and that there has never been more congestion in the city – this does not seem to be something that causes concern.
Almost two mandates won in the city are enough to turn into a springboard to aim higher. But, Rama should have known (I believe he knows this), that going under the LDK flag alone, will not take him far. That’s why he makes sure that in public he appears friendly to everyone (except VV); he takes care to talk about the KLA (and the classic question for him, at the post-war meal, would be: “where were you, Progress, when Kosovo was at war?”), he takes care to be photographed with the sons of Thaçi and Vesel, he praises Rugova, etc., etc.
So it is legitimate to have ambitions. Even political, in the circumstances where the gap between the government and the opposition is very large, in the circumstances when it imagines itself as the savior of the divided opposition.
But it is also very legitimate to ask him to fulfill the responsibilities assumed after the municipal elections – to make our life in Pristina better and easier. And what we are seeing in the first six months of the second term is even worse than in the first term.

Maybe it will become interesting, if in the not-so-distant future, a figure, or a political subject, will appear to us, which will be an alternative to what we have. Honestly, I don’t consider Rama an alternative, but in fact, a part of this generation that should make way for others.
I know they don’t let go – that’s why it will be interesting to see how the internal party wars in the opposition will end. Chances are they will unfold quickly especially if they are determined to take us to the polls again.
