
Two Algerian international players are banned from participating with the national team, and football authority Badali Ibrahim is presumed to be aware of this.
These two players received a penalty, which prevents them from participating with the “Greens”, and the matter concerns goalkeeper Luca Zidane and defender Rafik Belghali. While the two matches will be scheduled against Zambia inside the bases and Burundi away from home.
These two matches will take place between the 21st of September and the 6th of October next, for the first and second rounds of the 2027 African Cup of Nations qualifiers. They are the first matches of the “Desert Warriors” after the 2026 World Cup.
Regarding the reason, it is represented by the “CAF” punishment for these two players, after facing Nigeria in the quarter-finals of the African Cup of Nations, on the 10th of last January. After expressing their anger at the controversial Senegalese referee, Issa C.
It is noteworthy that “FAF” announced when the penalty was issued that it had filed an appeal with the continental body, but it has not yet revealed the final ruling.
