Trump made these statements in an interview with Fox News, adding that he believes Iran has become “much more accommodating” in peace negotiations.
The American president also emphasized that the US continues to send military reinforcements to the region.

Earlier, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the United States maintains “absolute control” over the Strait of Hormuz amid the ongoing crisis with Iran.
“We are opening the Straits. The Iranians are out of control and it’s unfortunate that they believe their propaganda,” he said, adding that US forces only retaliate “when fired upon”.
