Through a post on social media, Mareva Grabovski-Mitsotakis spoke about her health adventure, which kept her for several days in “Evangelismos” hospital, while publicly expressing her gratitude to the medical, nursing and administrative staff of the National Health Service.
In her message, wife of the prime minister she referred to her experience of hospitalization, noting that she had the opportunity to see firsthand what, as she wrote, she often heard from citizens about the daily effort of people in the public health system.
Specifically, he said: “A serious health adventure kept me in “Evangelism” for several days. And there I also found out personally what I had often heard from many of our fellow citizens about the professionalism and dedication of the people of the National Security Service”.
Concluding her post, Mareva Grabovski-Mitsotaki characterized this dimension of public health as the great strength of the NHS, writing: “This is the strength of the NHS. A strength for each and every one of us. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.”

A big thank you, then, to the doctors, nurses, and hospital staff! Not only because they helped me. But because, observing them for the whole twenty-four hours, I saw what knowledge, solidarity and humanity mean.
When we feel helpless they are the first people who come to us. They heal our wounds and fears with genuine interest. And they don’t just take care of us with medicine. But also lots of smiles, holding our hands.
This is the power of the NSS. A strength for each and every one of us.

Mrs. Grabovski – Mitsotakis was hospitalized for eight days in Evangelismos after an operation for ileus. It is recalled that he was admitted on Friday (17/4) to “Evangelismos”, after severe abdominal pain. The treating doctors deemed immediate surgical treatment necessary, proceeding to a laparotomy.
The operation was carried out successfully and related to the treatment of obstructive ileus, which was caused by adhesions.
