The US military on Thursday lifted a more than two-month naval blockade of Iranian ports that barred shipping from or to the Islamic republic, the US military said.
“Today, the US Armed Forces lifted the blockade of all maritime traffic to and from Iranian ports and coastal areas,” US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on platform X.
The military said U.S. warships would remain in the area to ensure all terms of the agreement were followed.
The US blockade of Iranian ports was in effect since April 13.
