“The agreement we made with Iran on Sunday will be signed soon – tomorrow (Thursday), maybe the next day (Friday),” Trump said at the G7 summit, although it was previously announced that the agreement would be signed in Switzerland on Friday.

“We will probably sign an agreement,” he added.

Trump told reporters at the last G7 press conference that he was ready to bomb Iran if they violated the deal.

“If they don’t behave properly, they will be hit again,” he claimed.

“They don’t want to be bombed, they don’t want to get hit,” Trump noted.

In a long series of comments about dealings with Iran, Trump detailed how the 2020 ordered the assassination of the head of the Revolutionary Guard’s foreign operations, Qassem Soleimani, whom he repeatedly called a “mad genius.”

Trump also recalled February 28. an airstrike that killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other senior officials, who he said were having breakfast at the time.

Trump was also asked about the deadly strike on an Iranian school in Minab on the first day of the war, which Iranian authorities said killed 155 people.

Although he initially called the question strange, Trump pointed out: “Nobody did it on purpose. Mistakes happen, war is ugly.”

“I know there’s an investigation into that,” he said, advising a reporter to ask Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth that question.

A US Tomahawk cruise missile struck an elementary school as a result of a targeting error, according to the preliminary findings of a US military investigation reported by The New York Times.

Trump also thanked Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping for remaining neutral on the war in the Middle East.

The peace plan has been made public

The United States on Wednesday released the official text of a memorandum of understanding reached with Iran over the weekend.

A senior US administration official read a 14-point document outlining provisions for opening the Strait of Hormuz, easing some financial restrictions on Iran and setting expectations for a solution to Iran’s nuclear program in future technical talks.

Titled the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran, the document was released after a wave of outrage that its text had not been made public.

“Basically, this is a deal that allows us to immediately open the Strait of Hormuz, obligate the Iranians to destroy their nuclear materials, and gives us leverage: if the Iranians behave better, we will respond with appropriate economic and sanctions relief that can make them a more prosperous country,” a senior US official said.

The memorandum is expected to be officially signed on Friday, opening a 60-day window for negotiations on the final terms of the agreement. Below is the full text:

The United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran, acting in good faith, have jointly agreed as follows:

    1. The United States of America, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and their allies in the current war sign this Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to declare an immediate and permanent cessation of military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon, and undertake to refrain from the commencement of any war or military operation against each other, to refrain from the threat or use of force against each other, and to ensure the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Lebanon. The final agreement will confirm a permanent cessation of hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon, as well as other provisions of this clause.

    2. The United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran undertake to respect each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and to refrain from interfering in each other’s internal affairs.

    3. The United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran undertake to negotiate and reach a final agreement within no more than 60 days, subject to mutual agreement.

    4. Immediately following the signing of this MOU, the United States of America will begin the removal of the naval blockade and any interference or obstruction directed against the Islamic Republic of Iran, and will completely end the naval blockade within 30 days. During this period, vessel traffic will be proportional to the pre-war traffic volume that will be restored by the Islamic Republic of Iran. The United States also commits to withdrawing its forces from areas near the Islamic Republic of Iran within 30 days of the final agreement.

    5. After the signing of this MoU, the Islamic Republic of Iran will make every effort to ensure the safe passage of commercial vessels from the Persian Gulf to the Sea of Oman and vice versa without any fee, applicable only for 60 days. Commercial vessel traffic will begin immediately, and demining work by the Islamic Republic of Iran will be completed within 30 days, subject to the need to remove technical and military obstacles. The Islamic Republic of Iran will engage in dialogue with the Sultanate of Oman to define the future administration and maritime services of the Strait of Hormuz, in consultation with other Gulf Coastal States, in accordance with applicable international law and the sovereign rights of the Strait of Hormuz Coastal States.

    6. The United States, together with regional partners, commits to a final, mutually agreed upon plan of at least $300 billion. US dollars for the reconstruction and economic development of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The implementation mechanism for this plan will be finalized as part of the final agreement within 60 days. The United States of America will grant all necessary licenses, exemptions and authorizations necessary to carry out the relevant financial transactions.

    7. The United States of America commits to ending all sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran, including United Nations Security Council Resolutions, IAEA Governing Council Resolutions, and all unilateral US sanctions (both primary and secondary), according to an agreed schedule as part of the final agreement. The Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America recognize the critical importance of the above-mentioned sanctions relief issue and express their intention to immediately address these issues through negotiations in order to reach a common agreement on them.

    8. The Islamic Republic of Iran affirms that it will not acquire or develop nuclear weapons. The United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran have agreed to resolve the issue of the management of stockpiled enriched material through a mutually agreed upon mechanism, based on the schedule set forth in paragraph seven, using a minimum methodology for on-site reduction of enrichment levels under the supervision of the IAEA. The two sides also agreed to discuss enrichment and other mutually agreed issues related to the Islamic Republic of Iran’s nuclear needs, based on an acceptable framework to be agreed upon in a final agreement. The final agreement will confirm the provisions of this paragraph, and the Islamic Republic of Iran recognizes the critical importance of the above nuclear issues. The parties express their intention to immediately resolve these issues in negotiations in order to reach a common agreement.

    9. Pending a final agreement, the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran agree to maintain the status quo. The Islamic Republic of Iran will maintain the status quo of its nuclear program, and the United States will not impose any new sanctions or deploy additional forces to the region.

    10. The United States undertakes that immediately after the signing of this MOU and until sanctions are lifted, the US Department of the Treasury will issue exemptions for the export of Iranian crude oil, petroleum products and its derivatives, as well as all related services, including banking operations, insurance, transportation, etc.

    11. The United States of America undertakes to make fully available and usable frozen or restricted funds and assets of the Islamic Republic of Iran upon the commencement of this MOU. The United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran will mutually agree on procedures for the release of these funds through negotiations. Such funds, whether received from the originating account or by transfer, must be fully eligible for payment to any final recipient designated by the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The United States undertakes to issue all necessary licenses and permits accordingly.

    12. The United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran agree that an enforcement mechanism will be established to monitor the successful implementation of this MOU and future compliance with the final agreement.

    13. Following the signing of this MOU and the implementation of paragraphs 1, 4, 5, 10, and 11 thereof, and with continued application of these measures, the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran will enter into negotiations for a final agreement exclusively on the remaining paragraphs.

    14. The final agreement will be approved by a binding UN Security Council resolution.
