The Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut set a new production car record for the quarter mile (about 402 meters), crossing this section in just 8.54 seconds and reaching a speed of 190 miles per hour, or about 305 kilometers per hour.
The record was achieved at the test airport of the Koenigsegg company in Engelholm, Sweden, and factory test driver Markus Lundh was behind the wheel.
The same car recorded an exceptional time for half a mile, which it covered in 12.76 seconds, at a speed of 373 kilometers per hour.
Power of 1,600 horses and extreme aerodynamics
Jesko Absolut is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine with two turbochargers, which on E85 fuel develops up to 1,600 horsepower and 1,500 Nm of torque, with a nine-speed Light Speed Transmission gearbox.
The car was developed as the fastest and most aerodynamically efficient version of the Jesko, with a drag coefficient of 0.278 and a maximum thrust of 150 kilograms at high speeds.

The particularly light carbon design additionally reduces the weight of the vehicle, which amounts to around 1,390 kilograms, which is crucial for such performance.
With this result, Jesko Absolut surpassed numerous rivals in the world of hypercars and once again confirmed Koenigsegg’s reputation as a manufacturer that pushes the boundaries of production cars.
